March 2023 - Chairman's Corner

NEWBERRY REPUBLICAN PARTY

MARCH 2023

In February we had 22 people at the Morning GOP. Elected officials present were Rep. Joe White who spoke about the BOP program coming on February 23. 6:30 at the Newberry Opera House and Sen. Ronnie Cromer reported that the Senate passed a bill regarding school Choice. They voted on a new Abortion Bill and a bill to remove the Certificate of Need for Hospitals to allow for more competition.

Steve Knapp from the Newberry Museum was our speaker. He talked about how the Museum is in the process of redoing some of the exhibits. In 2026 there will be a yearlong exhibit about the American Revolution.

Our March meeting will be Precinct Reorganization held on March 16 at the Newberry Shrine Club.

Invite your friends and neighbors to this meeting. We need all the Republicans we can get.

The makeup meeting for those who were unable to attend Reorganization is March 24 at Rep. Joe White’s office at 1303 Main St Newberry. 6:30 Room 410.

February 16 was our GOP meeting at the Depot. We had 54 people.

Hope Walker, Director of the SCGOP talked about re-organizing our precincts and how important this was. Newberry is solid and strong, but we need more people to come to our meetings. An informed public is the best tool we have.

Chad spoke about the quarterly meeting of SCGOP Executive Committee.

On February 21 a group of us got together and went over the list of voters from the June Primary. We were able to identify many people who could be called and invited to come to Re-Org. Sometimes it just needs the one-on-one approach. Cong. Jeff Duncan stopped by.

February 23rd was our BOP (Build Our Party) event. It was sponsored by Rep. Joe White. He secured the Newberry Opera House and reached out to all elected Republicans. The event was free, and the Opera House was full.

This event BOP = Build Our Party was held due to the incredible work of Rep. White. There were so many new faces in the crowd. Our hope is that they were so inspired by what they heard to join the Newberry Republican Party and help us make a huge difference.
